Birth Doula

Birth Doula

"Research has shown that using a Doula can reduce labour time, the need for pain relief medication, forceps and caesarean section"

I'll visit you at least twice during your pregnancy to establish what your hopes are for your birth. We'll explore options and ensure that you're fully aware of all your choices. This is also an opportunity for us to get to know each other, discuss your birth plan and assist you in accessing local resources.

I'm also available by phone and email to offer practical and emotional support throughout your pregnancy.

I'll be on 24-hour call from 38 weeks until your baby is born. I'll be with you throughout your labour and birth. During labour I offer support and reassurance to you and your partner, making sure the environment is conducive to the best labour and birth possible. I'll also be able to assist you in making informed choices and respond to your needs, desires and choices as they arise. I can take photos for you if you wish.

In the days after the birth I make a couple of visits at times most useful to you - to see the baby, go through your birth story if you wish and offer practical and emotional support when needed.

"Roz was vital to us, she was the calm, stable reassurannce amongst the panic of a birth not going to plan who my husband could share his fears with and who I could rely on to help with everything from helping reposition me on the bed to massage"

Sarah

"She is passionate about empowering women when they are at their most vulnerable and unable to speak for themselves. She really takes the time to learn about what you would like out of your birth experience and is there to advocate for you and to support you before, during and after!"
